The Selby-Louis Vuitton @ Asnieres

Photo documentary website, The Selby, continues his work with Louis Vuitton as part of the "Journey of a Man's Wardrobe" campaign. Todd captures some of the inner-workings of the Louis Vuitton home and bag-making operations in Asnieres, France outside of Paris. Intimate. The workers seem to look like actual Frenchmen...kind of keeps us from thinking "sweatshop", but probably a good move in any event. We are always into craftsmanship, design, and creative environments overall, so it's cool to see things like this. LV is obviously the sh*t, so it's no surprise that their creative space is nothing short of spectacular. But, I have to admit, I will NEVER wear a pair of LV sneakers or come out the house with a whole LV outfit on matching Ike and Tina (slang for too much color/brand matching). I am however, into vintage trunks and LV duffel bags. If you travel like us, and are NOT filthy rich, LV is not the way to go when you have to check bags (have you seen what they do to get them heavy bags on/off the plane?). Carry on? Cool. I get it...everybody wants to look like Prince Akeem and his loyal servant, Semi gliding through JFK, (COMING TO AMERICA....There's just something ill about being able to afford the 20k LV compartment trunk or an entire set for that matter) but you're NOT rich. You're riding coach and you're sitting next to me. General population. Hella Louis? Teterboro! Get a Tail Number! Is 30K too much for that flight to LA? Well then keep up , and I'll put you on to some fly sh*t that's durable enough for your Air Tran flight to Cleveland.... Shouts to Todd Selby for shooting Nigel's new condo last year, Eva B in Paris for being one of our besties, and that flight attendant at MillionAir Airlines (Teterboro) for finding my phone in the crack of the couch (sorry I forgot your name, but I got you!!!!).
