As a new footwear company, one could'nt ask for a better look than to have a footwear mainstay like Adidas reach out to do a collaboration. Adidas came with the initiative for 2010 to seek out a guest designer for each month of 2010, Mikhayel was chosen to participate and given the choice he picked February (Black History Month ), Mikhayel wanted to take an opportunity to provide a "worldly"view of black history, the range includes styles inspired by West African mudcloth, Egyptian heiroglypic art all the way to more modern themes like the Buffalo soldiers and Tuskeegee airmen. As a designer, cultural influencer, and an African born native Tesfaye thought it was important with this collection to tell the story of black history with Roots from Africa all the way to the contributions of African American pioneers here in the states, telling a diverse tale of the contributions of all to the story of Black History. The collection is available now at retailers across the country.
