Jay Clark-Pun(c)tuation

Jay Clark's "Cry Me A River...Then Go Drown in it" exhibition opens this Friday June 18th at Seattle's famed Pun(c)tuation! gallery. The Corner Collective remains consistent yet again with another night of beautiful debauchery and ... nevermind, you have to experience it for yourselves. If you are anywhere near the Pacific Northwest (Portland, Seattle, Vancouver) I strongly advise you try to attend this show...IF you can get in. Don't get me wrong, Pun(c)tuation! is NOT some exclusive club where its principles get off on snobbery (that's ar(c)hive). They get it. Everyone is welcome. The problem is, that it WILL crack, and space is limited so I suggest you get there early before Seattle's clown-ass police department shows up to shut sh*t down. Jay Clark, aka FaNKULT, believes in the "silent violence of collage", and this exhibit showcases his creativity through mixed media, sculpture-esque pieces, zines, t-shirts, and his self-published book. His pseudonym, FaNKULT, stands for "fanatical culture" and reflects his interest in society's obsessions. "Cry Me A River..." is an ode to society: an embodiment of frustration with the fighting, arguing, and complaining that seems to define much of today's news and events. His work deconstructs darker imagery-things people don't want to see-then pieces them back together in a way that changes and questions their original meaning and intent. "I hope to stir an emotion, open eyes, turn a smile, stress a frown, evoke tears, touch love, help hate, start debate, end an argument, meet people, make an enemy, sell art, collaborate, and be a part of something considered great." says Clark. Sounds like good money to me.....so with that said, shouts to Jay Clark, The Corner Collective and the affiliated (Maikoiyo Alley-Barnes, Kizha D, Jaycee Coleman, Em D, Ish Butler, Tilson and the Saturday Knights, Eric G, Jake 1, Vitamin D, Maine B and tha Sta Hi Bros, the Physics, J Moore, Bean 1, DV-1 and The Cutlery, Topspin, Supreme). Also shouts to my brother Q, my cousin Mandrell and everybody in the Central District and the Southend.
